Simple formula
Late cancellation fee = usual walk price × cancellation percentage. The percentage comes from your policy, not from the mood of the moment. That is the whole point.
Worked examples
- £12 group walk, 50% policy → £6.00 fee.
- £15 solo walk, 100% no-show → £15.00 fee.
- £22 two-dog household, 50% policy → £11.00 fee.
- £18 solo walk, 75% policy → £13.50 fee.
Describe the fee properly on the invoice
The line item should carry the date and the reason: “Late cancellation, Tue 14 Jul walk (under 24 hrs' notice)”. A well-labelled fee almost never gets queried; a bare “£6.00 fee” always does.
